Are you planning to have your home built this year or renovate your house but you’re not sure about the details of the designs yet? Are you located in the following areas: Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, and Burnaby? These are some places in Canada where you can definitely consider settling down for good. If you are from these areas, maybe you can try checking out the projected home trends that Canadian Home Building Association (CHBA) forecasted this year. Checking their projections might be very helpful and effective so without further ado, here are some of the features that CHBA included in their projection:
1. Large Windows
Large statement windows allow natural light to enter easily in one’s home which makes it much more energy-efficient. In the 2021 survey, CHBA found that Canadians are no longer concerned about heat gain or loss which makes this feature trend more popular. In fact, large windows are part of the top 10 desired features!
Are you wondering if this could fit your future Burnaby property? Check it out with your renovator or general contractor so they can make changes easily to whatever has been planned already! :)
2. Hexagon Tiles
If you’re looking for a quick upgrade that has a substantial impact, consider using hexagon tiles according to the CHBA. Hexagon tiles look great in a variety of settings including the bathroom because they come in a wide range of sizes, materials, and patterns, they added.
3. Front Entrances
Most of the time, we put too much effort into decorating our room because that is our safe space. There’s nothing terrible about that, but you may also want to consider how your house entrance will look this year.
Have you ever talked to your home builder or home renovation contractor about it? Based on CHBA, the front entrance is another feature that will be bound to be popular this year. According to them, most design professionals have adopted the trend. Here are some of the things you can do to make your home’s entrance as grand as possible based on CHBA:
- Make the flooring a little funky, or use Herringbone-styled tiles
- Use vaulted ceilings
- Install statement paintings
- Place textured runner rugs
- Install patterned wallpaper
- Install other furnishings that can "wow" your visitors
Which of the following features are you planning to include in your list?
Incorporating large windows, hexagon tiles, or making your front entrance extra beautiful? Whatever it is, always make sure to get the service of a trusted general contractor to make sure that you will achieve your desired outcome. Here are some tips for getting a general contractor whether you’re from Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, Burnaby, or Coquitlam:
- Projects done by the general contractor received good feedback
- Operates with a team of skilled and certified professionals
- Not only provides quality homes but, most importantly, a quality home-building experience
Here are additional things you may want to consider:
- Part of the Homebuilder association i.e., HAVAN(Homebuilders Association Vancouver)
- Support government advocacies in building quality and environment-friendly homes i.e., Net-zero homes
Home construction is something that we should plan and prepare carefully. If you could hire the right general contractor, you would feel like 30% of your home is done even if it is not yet started. That’s how amazing it could be. Once you have found them, don’t forget to share your thoughts about the home trends that you plan to incorporate and see how your home turns into one of the best in your neighborhood.
